Welcome Home! A young family of 4 came to us to update an original 1950’s California Ranch Style home nestled in the highly desirable charming San Rafael neighborhood in Pasadena. With a modest budget and an owner savvy in both construction and design, we were able to renovate the existing house and add an additional 950 SF of usable living space, including a new second floor and livable attic, with full master suite, and 3 bedrooms. While keeping the overall charm of the original 1950s CA ranch style exterior, the interior of the existing house was opened up to allow a free flowing space from through the main kitchen, living, and dining areas. Leading out to the rear yard is a large glass sliding wall, defining that indoor/outdoor connection California is known for. Although Design Build Strategies is most widely known for larger scaled projects, we very much enjoyed the process of being involved in this smaller scale remodel.
